Driven by strong customer demand for its award-winning identity governance solution, SailPoint achieved record growth in 2010, with revenue up 200% over 2009. The fourth quarter of 2010 was the company’s eighth consecutive growth quarter, highlighted by a record number of new customers. SailPoint doubled its customer base in 2010, adding 40 global companies. To support this growth, SailPoint also grew its headcount to 125 and doubled its office space in Austin, Texas.

In 2010, SailPoint closed two strategic corporate transactions to broaden its product engineering and services teams and further expand its global footprint. In the first transaction, SailPoint acquired Beacon Professional Services to supplement the company’s identity management consulting services and to deliver expert support and training to the company’s implementation partner network.

SailPoint also signed a strategic partnership with BMC Software, enabling BMC’s worldwide sales force and distribution partners to resell SailPoint IdentityIQ™ as the identity management component of BMC’s business service management portfolio. As part of this agreement, SailPoint also assumed responsibility for the Control-SA engineering and support team. The 40-member team, primarily based in Pune, India, will work with SailPoint’s Austin-based engineering and support teams to deliver and support next-generation identity management solutions.

SailPoint’s worldwide partner network saw dramatic growth in 2010. The company’s global partners, which include Big Four consulting and technology services firms, identity management delivery specialists, and solution resellers, now offer more than 250 consultants trained on SailPoint’s IdentityIQ solution. SailPoint also added six new delivery and reseller partners in North America and Europe, expanding its geographic reach and centers of expertise.

“Our aggressive business expansion in 2010 was based on the tremendous market opportunity we see for identity governance,” said Mark McClain, CEO and cofounder of SailPoint. “Our company growth, expanded partner network, and strategic additions of the Beacon and Control-SA teams will enable us to capitalize on this opportunity as we continue to deliver world-class products and services that set us apart from our competitors. Our 2011 plan includes extensive additions to our engineering, support and sales teams as we respond to increasing customer demand around the world.”

Throughout 2010, SailPoint continued to receive industry recognition and accolades for its corporate successes and innovation with IdentityIQ. The company was named a “2010 Red Herring 100 finalist” based on its financial performance, technology innovation, quality of management and execution of strategy, as well as a “Best Company to Work For” by the Austin Business Journal, based on employee sentiment. SailPoint IdentityIQ was also recognized for product innovation by two publications: it won CSO Magazine’s “Emerging Solutions Demo” and was featured in eWEEK’s “Products to Watch in 2010.”
