Reducing energy bills with the EnTouch of a button

EnTouch Controls is succeeding, in part, because it is led by a group of serial entrepreneurs who have many good and bad experiences to draw on.

Their three-year-old company monitors small businesses’ facility and branch circuit energy – controlling heating and cooling systems – to optimize comfort during business hours and minimize waste energy during vacancy.

EnTouch Controls’ system can save a small business $1,000′s per year and has a typical payback in less than 12 months, CEO Greg Fasullo said.

The team-based style has transformed their Richardson, Texas-based business offering simple but powerful and scalable energy management system for small businesses into a $1 million operation, on the verge of a national sales expansion.

In the near future, sales expansion and customer awareness will continue to be areas where the company will invest time and focus.

“While everyone understands that energy is a resource we should conserve, most business owners don’t realize how much energy they waste, how it impacts their bottom line, and that there are technologies that can allow them to manage this cost,” Fasullo said.

EnTouch Controls itself has been continually tested and improved by the feedback from potential investors, which is a time consuming but ultimately rewarding process.

The company, benefiting from their founder’s past experience, raised an undisclosed amount during a first round, leveraging local angel networks and early stage venture capital firms to find funding.

Texas has several strong angel groups and technology investment forums that small companies can use to reach potential investors and network with other entrepreneurs, Fasullo said, adding that many angels have walked in the same shoes as entrepreneurs.

“Their advice and support can help you find the right path for your business and give you a resource to call on when you have questions or maybe an introduction to a potential customer,” Fasullo said.
