Why Your Business NEEDS Video Marketing…

If you haven’t been paying attention, then you may have missed the fact that video is the biggest thing on the internet… And it’s only getting bigger!

In fact it was recently announced that 60 minutes of video is being uploaded to YouTube every SECOND! That means 60 hours of video per minute!

In fact industry leading companies like Cisco are already preparing for this explosion and are predicting that 90% of all internet traffic will be video by 2015!

I know what you’re asking… How does all of this effect you as a business owner?

This means that people LOVE to absorb information through video. Period.

They want their news, entertainment, music, and more via video – so what do you think is going to be the best way to reach them? (If you answered VIDEO MARKETING you’re right).

Here’s the best part for you… Video marketing is not only super effective, it’s super easy!

What’s even better is that it’s easier to get good Google rankings through video than in any other method that I am aware exists.

For example, I have a video on Holistic Financial Planning on this very blog, and if you look up ‘Holistic Financial Plan’ on Google right now – it’s on the first page!

The video probably took me 10 minutes to make, and it ranks in the top ten of Google.

Can you say ‘Cha-Ching!’?

Now, if you’re asking, ‘Where do I sign up?”, I’m going to help you with both the easiest and the cheapest way to implement video marketing for your business.  Unfortunately, the cheapest way isn’t also the fastest way, but it never is, right?

The Cheap Way:

1) Create your script or marketing message.

2) Use simple tools like iMovie or Windows Movie Maker to create & edit your movies.

NOTE: There are a lot of free tutorials on how to use video editing software, so don’t worry. Just Google your questions and you’ll find the answers.

3) Use the right type of video structure for your busines.

Depending on your type of business, you can either use pictures and a microphone (or music) or a video camera.  (Hint: If you’re in the service industry and your business is personality driven, use the video camera method so people can get to know you.)

4) Decide which keywords you want to optimize your video to show up under in the search engines.

Don’t get greedy. Pick a keyword phrase that is 3 words or more long, and then optimize for that phrase alone.

5) Optimize your video by making sure that your key words, tags, video title, and the video description all use your key words.

If you don’t have consistency, your chances of raking high diminish dramatically.

6) Upload your video to as many video sites as possible with links pointing back to your site.

This can eat up some serious time, but is worth the effort.  Be sure to look up as many video sites as possible, not just YouTube and Viddler.

This is the free way, but it has limitless potential if you’re looking to increase traffic to your site and business, or you’re looking to convert more people from prospects to customers!

As content you can re-use articles, old videos, educational talks, blog entries as more and turn them into video in a matter of minutes.  Also, if you want to create simple ‘screen capture videos’ you can use a free tool called: CamStudio until you’re ready to upgrade.

The Fast Way:

Now, if you’re open to using a few tools and spending a few bucks, here is the way to do even more:

1) Use the best video software.

If you want to create professional ‘screen capture videos’ then Camtasia is my favorite tool.  You can try it for 30 days free to make sure it is the best fit, so there’s no real risk.  It will allow you to do a lot of things that CamStudio doesn’t offer so that you can take your videos to the next level.

2) Leverage video uploading software.

Nothing is more frustrating than waiting around for your videos to upload for minutes or even hours at a time. So to fix that, you can use Traffic Geyser and save yourself a TON of time! You upload your video to Traffic Geyser and it will upload your video to dozens of sites at a time (how many is based on your needs).

NOTE: I’ve used this to get dozens of top 10 rankings with search engines, and even been #1 on Google within 20 minutes.  I can’t guarantee that will happen for you, but it’s so worth the time savings.

3) Look like a Pro.

If you’re serious about putting a video on your website and want it to look professional, you should use a tool like Easy Video Player to help you maximize control and performance. It has a lot of options, not watermarks or logos, and puts you in charge!

NOTE: It does require you to sign up for an Amazon S3 account, but those are easy to use and cost almost nothing.

4) Use other people’s talents.

If you want to do the absolute fastest and easiest thing possible, then outsourcing all of the work might be your best bet.  Check out sites like: www.Elance.com or www.Guru.com or even www.vWorker.com to find affordable help. You create the plan and let them turn it into videos, do the editing, do the uploading, etc.

Video marketing isn’t going anywhere anytime soon, so you need to embrace where technology is taking us rather than ignoring it.

I have a passion for marketing and will make it a point to talk more about video and other types of marketing essentials in the near future so stay tuned.

Until then, get off of your backside and start using this information to get noticed and get results!
